Vitamin E from natural ingredients is almost entirely absorbable by the body. Synthetic vitamin E, on the other hand, is only absorbed by about 16%. Does this sound familiar? Your dog enjoys our food when it's fresh out of the fridge but turns their nose up at it once it reaches room temperature. This is completely normal and actually a good sign. Raw food contains natural unsaturated fatty acids and fish oil. These are valuable nutrients, but they are also sensitive to heat and air. As soon as the food warms up, slight odors are released that dogs, with their keen sense of smell, perceive much more strongly than we do. For their sense of smell, the scent then shifts from "fresh" to "less fresh," even though the product is still perfectly fine. Additionally, the texture softens and releases moisture, which many dogs find less appealing than a cold, crisp bite. So, your dog being picky about this doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the food.
