How is Wolfork made?

In 5 steps from fresh ingredients to frozen burgers at your home.
1
Ingredient Selection

All our meat comes from EU-approved slaughterhouses, is suitable for human consumption, and is carefully checked upon arrival for quality, freshness, and temperature.

2
Mixing & portioning

Raw processed - not heated or steamed - always below 0°C to prevent any bacterial growth. Portioned into patties of 25, 50, or 100 grams.

3
Freezing

The burgers are immediately flash-frozen with liquid nitrogen (-180°C) to optimally preserve their taste, color, and nutritional value. Thus, no preservatives are needed.

4
Packaging & final inspection

Packed in convenient resealable bags. Each batch with a lot number for full traceability. Final checks on weight and metal particles.

5
Storage & distribution

Orders are assembled and dispatched directly from our own cold storage for same-day delivery.

6
Sustainable production

Healthy food for your dog, with care for the planet. We produce at least 75% of our energy from our own solar panels.

7
Independent laboratory

Periodic analysis by an independent and accredited laboratory for microbiological safety and nutritional values.

Origin
100% European ingredients

We work exclusively with EU-approved suppliers from Europe. We deliberately do not use ingredients from outside Europe - even if they are cheaper or organic.

Frequently Asked Questions

All meat used in Wolfork dog food comes from EU-approved slaughterhouses where animals fit for human consumption are slaughtered. On our website, you can see exactly where each ingredient comes from.

Not all ingredients are organic, but we consciously choose organic where it is possible and makes sense. Some ingredients, such as lamb or beef, can only be bought organically in larger quantities outside Europe. Given the high footprint and thus the high environmental impact, this is not a sustainable option. In this case, we therefore choose non-organic products that come from Europe.

Wolfork is produced in Opmeer, North Holland, at an EC-approved production facility.

Yes, Wolfork dog food meets all requirements according to FEDIAF guidelines. Please note: the vitamin E content in our food is lower than the set FEDIAF standard. This is because FEDIAF assumes synthetic vitamins, while we only use natural vitamins. Each vitamin is composed of different compounds. Not every compound can be absorbed by the body. Vitamin E from natural ingredients is almost entirely absorbable by the body. Synthetic vitamin E, on the other hand, is only absorbed by about 16%. If you look at the absorption of vitamin E in the body, our values meet the FEDIAF guidelines.

We pay the utmost attention to the quality of our dog food. That is why we regularly have our food tested by an independent and accredited laboratory for the required nutritional value and the absence of unwanted bacteria.

Yes, we consider nature just as important as your dog. We therefore do our utmost to protect nature as much as possible. Wolfork dog food is produced in the Netherlands with ingredients from Europe, which reduces transport and CO₂ footprint. Almost all of our fruits and vegetables are organic to minimize the impact on nature. In addition, at least 75% of the energy used in production is generated in-house.
